Hallmarking

A hallmark is a mark stamped on articles of gold, silver, or platinum by the British assay offices, certifying their precious metal content.

Jewellery below a certain weight are exempt from hallmarking. Sterling silver jewellery weighing under 7.78grams does not legally have to be hallmarked. Most of our pendants and earrings weigh under 7.78grams, and we therefore do not regularly have them hallmarked. If you want your piece hallmarked, we can definitely do this, but there will be an extra 2 weeks on the lead time, and an extra cost of £40.
